Meat Puppets & Mastodon

Episode 89

In Episode 89, Aaron and Brent highlight music from an Atlanta-based progressive metal band who just released their eighth album in October and a brother led group that gained significant exposure from an appearance on MTV Unplugged.

With a style that combines elaborate riffs, complex time signatures, and a melodic range that has earned critical praise over their 20 year career, Aaron looks at three songs from Mastodon.

Formed by brothers Kurt and Chris Kirkwood in 1980, Brent spotlights three songs from The Meat Puppets 1994 album “Too High To Die”.
