Episode 89 Playlist

Today be sure to get a head start on Monday’s episode by checking out this week’s artists on the Show Companion Playlists.

This week, Aaron and Brent highlight music from an Atlanta-based progressive metal band who just released their eighth studio album in October and a brother led group that gained significant exposure from an appearance on MTV Unplugged.

With a style that combines elaborate riffs, complex time signatures, and a melodic range that has earned critical praise over their 20 year career, Aaron looks at three songs from Mastodon including “The Motherload”, “Curl Of The Burl”, and “Gobblers Of Dregs”.

Formed by brothers Kurt and Chris Kirkwood in 1980, Brent spotlights three songs from The Meat Puppets 1994 album “Too High To Die” including “We Don’t Exist”, “Flaming Heart”, and “Roof With A Hole”.

The episode will be available Monday, December 6th wherever you listen to podcasts.
